iPhone Bugs

It seems to me that Apple should make an effort to fix iPhone bugs
instead of just focusing on thatting hacks.

Two bugs I would like them to fix - both in Safari:

Select field length: if the text in a select option is longer than the
field, it displays past the end.

The first option of a multi-select is selected by default.

2 Billion + messages!

Is this what everyone gets? After I delete all my emails in my inbox on my iPhone, because I use a different system as my primary mail system, I get this. 2,147,483,644 unread messages. Given that this is only 4 less than 2^32, I am guessing it is some type conversion or overflow problem.

Mobilizer, The Bookmarklet

Well, Google Mobilizer is helping me do more things with my iphone with less effort. Now I have written a bookmarklet for it: Here it is!

Reading news on iPhone

I have a new iPhone, and I have been trying to figure out how to read news on it. Sure, I can sort of read regular web sites, but it is not exactly user friendly to do that. NYT has narrow columns, so it sort of works. Other places, I end up scrolling horizontally back and forth. I don't really want to read in depth articles on my iPhone, just a quick news summary, like you get in some rss feeds. There is the rss reader that apple provides, but that limits the summaries to 2 lines. I hate that. And I think you have to use bookmarks, which I think are a little cumbersome anyway.

So I put together a simple quick and dirty rss reader site, with some rss feeds right in a pulldown. You could potentially build a link to read your own custom rss feeds, but I have not made that easy yet.

Let me know what you think.
